Beat Root Pre-order

Version of November 4, 2026

Pre-order terms — Beat Root 2027 series

These terms apply to pre-orders placed by consumers on www.beatrootdrum.com/2027-series/, for delivery outside France (United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, the other countries of the European Union and the other countries offered on the page). Pre-orders placed on our French page are governed by the French terms, and those placed on our German page by the German terms.

1. The seller

ACSE (Beat Root), a French limited company (SARL) with a share capital of €8,000, registered with the Besançon Trade and Companies Register under no. 802 133 249, 15 rue de la Faye, 25770 Serre-les-Sapins, France. SIRET 802 133 249 00036. EU VAT no. FR91802133249. Contact: info@beatroot.fr.

2. The product

Beat Root is a steel tongue drum handmade in France: six scales in one instrument (Happy, Zen, Tribal, Melancholia, Space, Nature), selected with a magnet system; built-in microphone and 1/4" (6.35 mm) jack output; 30 × 30 × 17 cm (11.8 × 11.8 × 6.7 in); about 5 kg (11 lb). It comes with a pair of mallets, 3 magnets and a quick-start guide, in the finish (All Black, All White, Black or White) and tuning (440 Hz or 432 Hz) you choose. The carrying case is an option.

Each instrument is finished by hand, so small differences in appearance may exist from one to another; they affect neither the sound nor how it works. Photos are faithful but cannot render every nuance.

3. What a pre-order is

A pre-order is a firm purchase of an instrument from the 2027 series, which will be made after the campaign ends. It is paid in full when you order. It is separate from Beat Root’s Kickstarter campaign: it is not a pledge to a crowdfunding project, and it gives you all the rights of a buyer, set out below. It offers the same prices, options and shipping rates as the Kickstarter rewards, and the same place in the delivery queue.

5. Placing an order

You choose a reward, the finish and tuning of each instrument, your options and your shipping country. A summary shows the details and the total. After accepting these terms, you are taken to Stripe’s secure payment page, where you enter your details and your delivery address (in the country chosen on the page). The contract is concluded when the payment is accepted. A confirmation of your order is then emailed to you. We keep a record of your order for 10 years.

6. Payment

Payment is taken in full when you order, by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or another method offered on the payment page, through our payment provider Stripe. Your card details are handled directly by Stripe: Beat Root never sees them.

On the payment page you can pay in euros or, if Stripe offers it, in your own currency, at the exchange rate shown by Stripe, which includes a conversion fee (usually 2 to 4%) charged by Stripe. The amount due remains the amount in euros. If you pay in euros, your bank may apply its own exchange rate and fees. An invoice, in euros, is available on request and is provided with your instrument.

7. Delivery

8. Cancelling before shipping

You can cancel your pre-order at any time before it ships, without giving a reason, by emailing info@beatroot.fr with your pre-order number. We refund everything you paid, shipping included, within 14 days, to the same payment method.

If, for a reason of our own, the 2027 series could not be made, we would tell you straight away and refund you in full within 14 days.

9. Right of withdrawal

You also have 14 days from receiving your instrument to withdraw from the contract, without giving a reason. To do so, tell us clearly, by email to info@beatroot.fr or by post, for example with the form below (using it is optional).

Then send the complete instrument back, well protected, within 14 days of telling us, to the address in article 1. Return shipping costs are yours. We refund everything you paid us, including the original shipping, within 14 days of being told of your decision; we may wait until we receive the instrument or proof that it was sent. The refund is made to the same payment method. Import taxes and duties paid to your country’s authorities are not collected by us and cannot be refunded by us; depending on your country, you may be able to reclaim them from the customs authority when you re-export the instrument. You are only liable for any loss in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to check the nature, characteristics and working of the instrument.

10. Warranty

Beat Root comes with a 2-year warranty from delivery against any lack of conformity (French legal guarantee of conformity, articles L.217-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, and guarantee against hidden defects, articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code). Under it, you are entitled to repair or replacement free of charge, or, failing that, to a price reduction or a full refund. Write to info@beatroot.fr. This warranty is in addition to the rights you have under the mandatory consumer laws of your country.

11. Complaints and applicable law

For any complaint, please write to us first at info@beatroot.fr: we answer every message. These terms are governed by French law, without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

12. Privacy

Data controller: Beat Root (details in article 1). We apply the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to everyone, wherever you live.

Recipients: our payment provider Stripe; our email services Mailchimp (Intuit, United States) and Kit (ConvertKit, United States), covered by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses; our carrier and customs agents, for delivery only; Google, Meta and TikTok for measuring our ads (see below); Anthropic, for analysing our statistics, which never receives any name or email. Your data is never sold.

Cookies and trackers: the page may set an anonymous audience-measurement ID. The advertising pixels of Google, Meta and TikTok only work with your consent, asked in the bar at the bottom of the page; refusing changes nothing on the page. For visitors shipping to the United States or Australia, these pixels are active by default and the bar lets you turn them off (“Do not track me”); the Global Privacy Control signal of your browser is respected as a refusal. Your choice is kept for 6 months and can be changed at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. YouTube videos are only loaded, in privacy-enhanced mode, when you click them. Payment takes place on Stripe’s page, which uses the cookies needed for the security of the transaction.
